The poem from beginning to the end talks mainly of the nature that surrounds us wherever we go. The poem makes us understand that we are actually dependent on nature for all our needs. The nature in its splendor is so beautiful that Marlowe has actually united with the environment. The poem captures the joy of love, in the midst of nature. In fact reading the poem makes one wonder, if the natural splendor that surrounded Marlowe when he wrote the poem, was the reason for his love to flow like a river. Nature makes one forget about the present. In fact, it makes us forget all about ourselves and become one with nature as we enjoy and be part of the beauty that surrounds us in all its glory. Marlowe in this poem talks more of the nature that surrounds him and less about his love. The poem talks of the quiet simplicity of rural life and how humans are part of nature. There is no way of separating humans from nature. The humans are dependent on nature for their very existence. The nature is dependent on humans to be admired and glorified. The human dependence on nature is highlighted by the fact that Marlowe is sitting upon a rock. He wants to make a bed of roses; wool for a coat from the lambs, buckles for the slippers from gold, a belt of straw, the list goes on. Marlowe by writing this poem has made the readers understand the relationship between humans and nature. Annie Dillard in ‘Sojourner’ talks of the Earth in its entire splendor. She talks of the mangrove tree that floats and becomes like an island in a sense. She rediscovers the magic of nature and how it can be viewed in a beautiful sense. People ordinarily will not give a second thought to a tree floating. She magnifies the significance and projects a simple natural event into something extraordinary. In fact Annie Dillard brings to life the mangrove tree that is all but dead. A tree that has no life has been brought to life with her words. When Dillard talks about the mangrove tree, she actually means the Earth and its movements. She tells that Earth is a sojourner, creating its own path and moves in a path that cannot be followed by any other thing on Earth. She tells that Earth is a wet ball thrown into eternity and humans are part of this. We the humans and nature have united to become one. She ends with a question asking what will happen at the end of the journey. The mangrove tree will finally end up in the Ocean. So where do the Earth and the humans living on it finally end up, is a question left unanswered. Mangroves play a major role in the essay by Annie Dillard. She uses the tree to show the human nature. The mangrove starts from scratch and builds a strong foundation. The human nature and relationships are similar. We all start from scratch and build many strong relationships as we grow. Some who are not able to make any relationships are like the mangrove tree felled by the hurricane, being tossed and not knowing the final destination. Annie Dillard unites with nature and is part of it. She talks of the Earths movement in words that make a person imagine and feel the true aura of nature. She has merged the human nature and the nature to be examples of each other.

Evaluation of Soap For this soap assignment I was supposed to make my own soap. I was supposed to target it at different type of people. I was also supposed to make it as if it would be aired on TV. From this assignment I have understood that target audience is when you target an audience of any age that you choose. You would need to choose to target a specific age group or a group of people. I also think that the target audience is the most vital part of planning as you wouldn't have a script to write if you didn't have a target audience. I also think that you need to right the script for a specific audience. For my soap I have targeted people that are aged thirteen and above, but mainly teenagers and young adults would be watching. So I tried to make the audience broad so that I would be targeting everyone. I have targeted mainly teens and young adults as they would appeal to the main storylines. But there are other storylines for elder people. My soaps image would be very street. There would be a night club and would have a lot of thugs and litter on the streets. There would also be a chip shop and local newsagents. The houses will all be semi-detached and the houses will be very close together. The decisions which I made when deciding on the settings was that I lived in Birminghamand there was a place called the Broadway. I decided on the characters to be very formal and most of them had to have brummie accents. I also decided that there should be Asians, black and whites as Birminghamis a multicultural society. For the storylines I asked people what things they thought would appeal to them and how they would. I combined the people's ideas and my ideas and came up with the storylines. When designing the front cover of my magazine I decided that it had to have a big impact on the readers.

One often wonders where the Native North Americans originated from. Some theories have been discussed about the peopling of the Americas. Early theories involving lost tribes and continents were based purely on speculation instead of actual scientific facts. Discoveries made during many archeological expeditions have helped shape the always changing interpretations by adding more questions and more theories. There have been genetic and linguistic studies which raised more understanding and brought new questions. It is theorized that during the latter part of the Cenozoic era, also known as the age of mammals that the Wisconsin glaciation caused enough of the planet’s water supply to turn into ice. This lowered the oceans and exposed now submerged land. This event created a stretch of land that the large mammals of the Ice Age era, along with the natives of that era, could very well have migrated across the newly formed land bridge, which now connected two continents. This land bridge is known as the Bering Strait, or Beringia. During the time that Beringia existed, the Wisconsin glaciers most likely prohibited migration to any southern or eastern regions. Another theory suggests that the early natives may have inhabited the now Alaskan region because it was ice-free due to low precipitation. Several melts over a period of time created passageways, and evidence from archeological site implies that there was an ice-free corridor for thousands of years. It was during another melt approximately ten thousand years ago, that a second corridor was most likely formed farther east along the borders of Saskatchewan and Canada plains. This points to the possibility that the ancient people could have traveled eastward along the rivers in the Great Plains, and down further south. The Indians known to history as the Sioux are also known as Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota, meaning allies. This is my heritage. I am a member of the largest division of Siouan family, otherwise known as Sioux. The name is from a term given to the largest and well- known of the tribal groups. At one time, my people stretched from the west banks of the Mississippi northward from Arkansas and the Rocky Mountains. The Dakotas also inhabited territory east of the river up to Wisconsin and Missouri. They were here to encounter DeSoto on his journey in 1541, when he reached the Indian villages in what is now eastern Arkansas. Another hundred years passed before any mention of Sioux existing, when in 1658 some Jesuit missionaries heard of the existence of about thirty Dakota villages just north of a Potawatomi mission. This was located at about the head of Green Bay, Wisconsin, in St. Michael. It was during the middle 1600’s when the Sioux, along with the Arapaho and Cheyenne had to migrate further westward towards the Great Plains to what is known as North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota. This migration was mainly due to the O jibwa and Chippewa tribes pushing them out of the Great Lakes region. The Ojibwa and Chippewa had been pushed out of their own land that had been further east, by the European settlers of that time. In 1805 Lewis and Clark passed through the center of this region and made contact with the Sioux tribes. After this took place, several more expeditions brought traders that settled among the tribes, and in the course of some time, permanent settlers arrived. This made the area so small that eventually the people of my tribe were forced to live in Indian Territories or confined to Nebraska, the Dakotas, or Montana. This brought on a series of raids and counter raids that lasted from roughly 1850 through 1890 and were known as the Sioux Wars. In the first years of the twentieth century, the Dakotas also known as Tetons began the process of adapting to their new way of life. They still had strong faith in their own traditions, but realized that the old way was gone forever. Numerous changes with the economy and politics were forced on my people by the government. The people strived to establish a life for themselves that used both new changes, but still remained true to their values and beliefs. During the rest of the twentieth century, all of the reservations for the Dakotas, Lakotas, and Tetons lost more land due to ownership passes and inheritances. Division between rural dwellers and people who live in town have grown bigger. Rural residents tend to retain their use of native language, and be involved in cultural events, when townspeople adapt other aspects of the American culture. Most of the Sioux nation and other groups of American Indians live in South Dakota, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and North Dakota at present time on privatized land created by the government many years ago. The exhibition was well organized; the paintings were arranged in a meticulous order that evokes interest in each piece as you move from one painting to the other. Art exhibition attracts the members of the community to come together in an appreciation and awareness that fosters unity in the community. Experiencing art at the local community helps to reveal the character and identity of the neighborhood. It enriches the lives of the people as they come together and shares a public space, the interaction of shared thoughts how they feel about the art promotes positive bonding between family members, children and even strangers (Art in Public Places, n.d.). The facility used for local exhibitions also adds to the environmental appeal of a community. It creates and promotes an educational environment for the neighborhood. The architecture of the building adds to the asset of the community and establishes a sense of pride in the community. Mone tary benefits can be gained from having a local art exhibition which often times aids the local charities, school, churches and hospitals in the community; art work are also donated to these facilities. The artwork displayed in the local exhibits can also broadcast the works of upcoming artist who need an avenue to showcase their work.

It is obvious that many people prefer to spend their free time watching movies. Intriguing plots, fascinating characters, modern effects – all these factors contribute to people’s love for movies. However, for many people it is still hard to decide what is better: to watch films at house or at the theater. Both variants have their own advantages and disadvantages. Some people choose cinemas, while others prefer to stay at home and watch movies there. Tastes differ. As for me, I would rather choose to watch movies at the theater rather than at home. First of all, I would like to mention that quite recently I went to the cinema. There I understood that I prefer to watch movies at the theater. Together with my friends we have chosen to see the Insurgent. Thus, the movie was great, and we received a whole spectrum of positive emotions. I enjoyed the image quality of the movie, as all the colors were bright and vivid. I suppose that this effect was achieved by viewing the movie on a large screen. For instance, when I watch films at home on TV, the image quality is not as great as at the theaters. The sound is not perfect as well. Thus, all movie theaters are usually well-equipped and always have professional sound systems. I should say that while watching the Insurgent movie, it was mainly professional sound system and perfect image quality that helped to get fully immersed into the movie’s world.
